The Cabot Medical Centre ‘Baby and Children’s Health Clinic’ offers parents the support needed to make the right decisions about children’s health and vaccination schedules. The question that worries parents the most is “will vaccinating my child at such a tender young age increase the risk of neurological damage such as autism or other diseases such as autoimmune diseases and severe allergies in the future?”
We know the incidence of autism has increased over the last 50 years, and some of the risk factors that increase the chances of a child developing autism includes; maternal autoimmune disease, maternal Type 2 diabetes, maternal Obesity, the use of prescription anti-depressants by mothers during pregnancy, and a strong family history of autism (in either parent).
Injecting toxic substances into the bloodstream of any person is risky. However, the dangers are greatly multiplied when it is a child; this is because of their smaller body size, less developed detoxification capabilities and the large number of vaccinations given in a very short space of time.
Prepare your child for vaccination
If the mother is breast-feeding, and to ensure the infant is not deficient in nutrients required for optimal immune competence, she can be given supplements of vitamins C, E, D and the minerals zinc, selenium and iodine.
If the infant is not breast-fed, or is older, liquid supplements containing vitamins A, E, D, C, and the minerals selenium, zinc and iodine can be administered for several weeks before and during vaccinations.
The infant should be in excellent health, free of infections and allergies; if the infant/child has allergies like eczema, asthma, hives or hay fever, a children’s probiotic is warranted. Gluten and dairy products should also be eliminated from the diet.
The infant should not be on antibiotics or steroids, before vaccinations.

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) Diet

What is HCG?
HCG, a hormone produced by females when pregnant, ensures the growing baby has a constant supply of energy and nutrients by mobilising the mother’s fat reserves as required, during pregnancy.
The use of HCG for rapid weight-loss in men and women was developed in Italy by Doctor Simeons in the 1960s. After discovering the connection between obesity and hormonal imbalance in adolescent boys, Dr Simeons used HCG with great success, developing its use as a treatment to achieve rapid weight-loss, finding it extremely effective when administered properly as it corrects a metabolic disorder of the hypothalamus gland.
Dr Simeons realised that regularly-timed small doses of HCG, in the average person (both men and women who are not pregnant), had the same effect, namely mobilising approximately 2000-2500 calories of stored energy per day, equating to nearly half a kilogram of body fat per day available to the body for use as fuel making it possible for a person to lose nearly half a kilogram of fat every day!
Why is the HCG Diet Different?
If the guidelines are followed correctly, there are immediate results!!
The HCG Diet is a short-term, radical, quick-acting, effective and SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN program previously only available to the wealthy and famous. It is a Diet that, because of its effectiveness, is undergoing a resurgence making it available to everyone!
The HCG Diet is NOT a guideline to a permanent life-style eating plan after excess weight is lost. Patients are guided and educated into a permanent, healthy, practical and easy eating life-style when nearing the maintenance phase.
Our GPs can prescribe HCG in liquid or injection form, patients are provided the HCG Diet and results are monitored. The HCG Diet lasts 21-days followed by a 21-day stabilization diet.

Intravenous Infusions available at the Cabot Medical Centre

Are you recovering from illness, chemotherapy, surgery or just feeling rundown? Intravenous infusions and vitamin injections can speed the healing process and strengthen your immune system.
There are health problems that respond much better to intravenous infusions than oral supplementation. Infusions work very quickly giving obvious results because they go directly into the blood stream.
The problems that can be benefited from intravenous infusions are –
Iron deficiency
Chronic fatigue Syndrome
Lyme’s Disease
Migraine headaches
Autoimmune problems
Liver and gut problems
Hardening of the arteries
High blood pressure
Hang overs
Which Vitamins can be included in the intravenous infusion?
We are able to tailor treatments to meet your individual needs, and can offer a wide range of vitamin and mineral combinations including:
Vitamin C (15 to 30g)
Vitamin B group
Strong antioxidants such as glutathione which cannot be absorbed efficiently from the gut – glutathione is the most powerful anti-inflammatory and anti-ageing antioxidant in the body
Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) – Great liver detoxifier
Vitamin D3 – Given once a year for healthy cell repair
Iron infusions to rapidly replenish the oxygen carrying capacity of your red blood cells
We also offer intravenous chelation with EDTA to remove heavy metals from the body which can unblock arteries, detoxify your cells and improve circulation to all parts of your body. This can help to reduce high blood pressure caused by hardening of the arteries.
Iron infusions - FERINJECT is used for the treatment of patients with iron deficiency, when oral iron preparations are ineffective or cannot be used. The aim of the therapy is to replenish body iron stores and to remedy anaemia quickly.
